Review of BMW Series 6 Convertible

First unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor show, the BMW 6 series convertible is an outstanding car; but can it defeat its arch-rival the Jaguar XK? Well that is a matter of debate.

Although there is the choice of six, eight or ten cylinder engines, all are limited to 155mph. Fast enough! Reaching 60mph in 6.3 seconds, this convertible offers great performance on the road. Its engines rumble like thunder, announcing its presence in a dramatic manner. The handling matches this impressive performance, with the ability to slice into even the sharpest of corners. The car is very comfortable, and is a pleasure to drive; even over long distances. Unless you are a passenger sitting in the back seat, as unfortunately the designers seem to have forgotten that most humans have legs.
Whilst the convertible doesn’t have as much road cred as the coupe, this car is still packs a punch in the cool department. The cutting lines and pointed nose give this car a shark-like appearance, with LED ‘eye’ rings around the headlights for dramatic affect. This convertible is a car that makes an impression, stalking the roads and stirring excitement in its wake. The interior lives up to this dynamic edge, offering comfort with a modern twist, and a range of gadgets. Quality of build isn’t an issue, as BMW have used only the best to create this beauty. So any money saved on repairs costs can go straight into the insurance fund, as this BMW falls into the high-end categories. The fuel bills are also a little steep, as this thing drinks more than a fish.

So with all this taken into account, does the BMW series 6 convertible have what it takes to top the Jaguar XK? It’s a close call, perhaps too close.
